And so We Went to Hospital

Merry Christmas one and all. I hope you have had a good day with plenty of fun, food and celebration. This morning started off in Best Western Hospital, Swindon with both boys- I delivered them as a job lot.
SN1 has torn a muscle in his upper arm which has detached itself from the bone, in a lot of pain, not sleeping and so therefore grumpy. He apparently did something to it in a gym when he was in Australia, it hurt a lot but eventually got better.
He was cycling back from work last Monday and the gears slipped by itself, jolted him but the pain is way more intense than it was before. He has been told to make an appointment with his GP, get referral to a physiotherapist and has been given exercises to do in the meantime.
However, as he said, it's good to know what it is but it still doesn't make the pain go away.
SN2 came in yesterday with a swollen face! This time it is on the opposite side of the face and of course he was in pain. It appears a lot more localised then the last time, but he only had the operation 6 weeks ago so there was a certain amount of anxiety out there. He was referred to the GP section to the hospital and was finally seen where he was packed with a packet of antibiotics and a merry Christmas.
The irony is that the very reason why I wanted Christmas at home is so I didn't have the cross country driving as with all the other Christmas's but with going to Bristol yesterday and Swindon today it kinda not wholly worked out that way but hey ho
The rest of the day was spent cooking and washing up. I can't believe how much crockery four people use....I'm nowhere near cleared up and I have got Boxing day to do.
We had the ham hock terrine for starters and the main was the eye wateringly expensive rib of beef which SN1 did which was spectacular! This was served with Yorkshire puddings, winter coleslaw (carrots and leeks- should have celeriac as well but I didn't bother), roast potatoes, brussels. We had no room for pudding.
I don't know why but I have found this Christmas difficult in terms of getting the cooking done, table laid, tidying and making sure everyone has plenty of drink and so on. I hope everyone had a good time.
Mum and I are now watching Christmas Strictly Come Dancing whilst the boys are out having one beer (which seems to be taking them ages to drink).
Time to open another bottle of wine I think.
Merry Christmas.
Love
